ENG: Underneath is a summary of all available caches in the DCGeopoly. A short english description of each cache can be found at the bottom of this page. (Please note that this is a temporary translation that can be improved). 1. Start Start is located near one of the most important entrances to the city of Deventer, the A1 highway. The view from the cachesite at the Deventer skyline is superbe. Hint: tile.
2. Lebuinuskerk Deventer was probably founded by the English missionary Lebuinus around 768, who built a wooden church on the right bank of the River IJssel. At the same spot of this first church, the actual Lebuinuskerk (kerk = church) has been built. It is a late-gotic church with roman (11th century) parts. The tower and arch were built in the 17th century. Hint: city map.
3. Iordenshofje This is the last remaining Hofje = court in the city of Deventer founded in 1583 and since then being administered by the Iordensfamily. Respecting the privacy of the actual inhabitants of the court, the cache is hidden nearby. You can take a look at the court but please do not walk in the court itself, this is prohibited. Hint: VT-BV-05.
4. Bergkerk The Bergkerk is a gotic church with two roman towers built in aprrox. 1200, situated on a hill. The church is now being used as an exhibition centre for modern art in the so-called, Bergkwartier, the most pittoresque part of the medieval city centre. This neighbourhood has been perfectly restored since the 1970’s. Hint: sixteen.
5. Boreelkazerne These military barracks were built mid 19th century, named after the founder of its regiment. It was used by the cavalry until the late years 1990. Actually the complete neighbourhood is being changed into a shopping area, with new buildings but also using the original barracks. Hint: --
6. Railway Station Deventer The current building is from 1914. It is one of the few pre-war railway stations in the Nertherlands that have been preserved in such a good shape. This is a nano-cache, use only your initials.Use the nearest digit you can find for the bonus. Hint: behind the drain, not to be seen. Feel to find the nano-cache.
7. Waag Since the 14th century Deventer had its own weighing-house. The current building dates from 1528. The steps were added in 1644. The Waag is situated at the central square in Deventer, de Brink, which is one of the most beautiful squares in the Netherlands. Hint: pluvia
8. Voetveer The foot-passenger ferry is being used for bringing passengers across the river IJssel. Before this ferry was taken into use, there was a bridge at the same spot.

Calculate A to K by taking the lettervalue of the second letter and the one before the last letter. Hint: bend over.
9. Ankersmitsilo This is a historic concrete silo, one of the silos dating from 1924. The silo is one of the prominent parts of the Deventer Skyline. Hint: magnetic, at 2,25 metres
10. Noordenbergtoren When walking the route as specified you will visit two defensive walls of the old city of Deventer; de Stenen Wal built to defend against the Vikings (Deventer was destroyed by the Vikings in 882) and the Noordenbergtoren built in 1487 as a part of the wall around the city. The remains of the tower can be visited from 09.00 – 18.00 hours (use the intercom). Hint: take the stairs, on top of the pilar.
11. Vrouwengevangenis This prison for women was used from 1818 to 1905. After the liberation in 1945 NSB women were held prison in this building, that is the reason for the name. Hint: Drain.
12. Zandwetering The Zandwetering is a stream marking a great part of the northwest frontier of the city. Note that this area can only be entered at the additional waypoints ! Hint: between small trees
13. Electricity At this location the high tension network is transformed into a low tension network to provide the city with electricity. Hint: at the bottom of a tree with several stamms
14. Raambuurt The Raambuurt is a characteristic neighborhood where old buildings have been restored and integrated with the new buildings. Take some time to walk through this neighborhood to smell the life of many years ago at the smithy or the old grainsilo near the cache which is now in use as an archeologic depot. Hint: magnetic.
15. Atheneaumbibliotheek Deventer is a city of books. Already in 1477 the first Deventer book was printed resulting that Deventer was one of the main printing cities in Europa in the 15th century. In buildings formerly belonging to a monastry, nowadays houses the historic archives of the city as well as the Athenaeumbibliotheek with 250.000 books. These books however are not available to the public for reasons of preservation. The cache is hidden in a historic alley nearby. Hint: between wall and flowerpot.
16. Railway Station Diepenveen West This station is one of the former stations at the railways from Deventer to Zwolle. It was built in 1866 and definitively closed in 1941. Hint: steps.
17. Jongensinternaat The Holterhoek is a private boarding-school for boys founded in 1972 situated in an nice estate in a nature reserve. It is meant for students that (due to all possible reasons) cannot study well at home of for children whose parents live abroad. Hint: Where would you hide it?
18. Gemeenteschool Lettele This is a former schoolbuilding in the village of Lettele, the oldest parts dating from 1886. It is now being used by a wholesaler in farmers products. Hint: tree stump.
19. Bosbaan This is a special skating ring of 800 meters located in the middle of nature. Every inhabitant of Okkenbroek, the village nearby, is donor for live ! Hint: tree stump, approx. 5 metres from the path.
20. Van oude graven en eeuwige rust This is an old cemetary where a number of well-known persons out of the region have been buried. In 90 years more approximately 50.000 people have been buried here. Since 1918 the cemetery is not in use anymore.At this moment, the graves, the nature and buildings are official national monuments. Hint: --
21. Ceintuurbaan Free parking is easily here. Hint: magnetic
22. Adelaarshorst This is the football stadium of the Go Ahead Eagles (Adelaar = Eagle), four times champion of the Netherlands (1917, 1922, 1930, 1933). The original stadium was built in 1920. The Go Ahead Eagles now play second division football. Hint: --
23. Cröddenbrug The Cröddenbrug is a historic bridge over the Overijssels kanaal. The picture shows the former cafe/restaurant which had to leave for enabling the construction of the road N348. The bridge is still there.
To find the cache, the following puzzle must be solved: Rules: - Bridges start and finish at different islands. - Bridges are straight lines. - Bridges may not cross. - Bridges connect islands only horizontally or vertically - Islands are connected by 2 bridges at the most. - The number of bridges that connects an island is equal to the number mentioned on the island. Hint: behind beam.
24. Broederenkerk The Broederenkerk was founded by Eleanora of England, countess (duchess since 1339) of Gelre and countess of Zutphen who lived the last years of her life in Deventer. This is a nano-cache, use only your initials.Use the first digit of the house number of the church for the bonus. Hint: sign
25. Snippeling One of the Deventer neighbourhoods. The correct spelling of it has been disputed over the years; is it Snippeling without ‘r’or Snippeling with ‘r’. Hint: --
26. Railway Station Colmschate This new station at the railways from Deventer to Enschede was opened in 1988. Approximately 200 meter eastbound, the former station has been in use from 1888 to 1933. unfortunately there are no traces left. Hint: pole.
27. Begraafplaats Colmschate Until 1921 it was common that “neighbours” took care of the burial of dead people, every hamlet had its own cemetery. This is one of such cemetaries of the hamlet of Colmschate. Hint: At the feet of….
28. Vistrap The Schipbeek is a stream in the Netherlands and Germany and ending in the river IJssel at Deventer. The fall of the complete stream is 23 metres. As fish must be able to swim the Schipbeek upstream, coming from the river IJssel, some dams have been constructed for fish, of which this is one. Hint: pole.
29. Water works The water-tower in Deventer is located in a nice park and was built in 1893. Its height is 48 metres and it contains a waterreservoir of 500 m3. It is still in use as water-tower. Hint: little oak.
30. Rielerkolk The Rielerkolk has been originated by winning sand necessary for constructing the railway dikes nearby. Due to this it has very steep banks.Between 1954 and the end of the seventies it has been used as a swimming pool; the Rielebad, one of the most beautiful swimming tracks for long distances in the Netherlands. Thanks to its sheltered position people were able to swim fast times. Hint: underneath
31. Go to prison This building is a former police station. The cells are now being used as archives. Hint: --
32. Dorpskerk Diepenveen A monastry was built in the 15th century but destroyed in 1578 leaving only remainders of the chapel. The church was restored in 1720. Hint: --
33. IJsselstadion At this location has been a skating stadium from 1962 until 1992. Many dutch, european and world championships have taken place here. Now the area will be redeveloped. Hint: tree.
34. St. Josef Ziekenhuis This hospital was taken into use in 1956. With a complete new hospital being finished in 2008, this location will be redeveloped. Hint: you will have to go fishing.
35. Korenmolen de Leeuw Already in 1523 a mill was mentioned, however not exactly at this location. The last restoration was executed in 1990. It is a corn-mill. Hint: outside the terrain of the mill.
36. Railway Station Bathmen This station is one of the former stations at the railways from Deventer to Almelo. It was built in 1888 and definitively closed in 1947. Hint: At 1,75 m. height
37. Landmark Deventer At the location of the old IJsselstadion new houses have to be built but one of the characteristics of the designs must be that there will be a Landmark integrated. Image B shows one of the new designs. This puzzle shows also other Landmarks in the world. Use the names of the cities mentioned to solve the puzzle. Hint: concrete pole.
38. Bolwerksmolen This mill is a saw-mill built in 1863. The mill has just recently be restored, starting with the foundation. Hint: small box, left of the entrance gate.
39. Gemeentehuis Diepenveen Here you stand in front of the villa/residence which is build by the Deventer industrialist J.C.L. van de Lande. It is the first villa which was build in "Park Braband" (1898), you see the park located behind the building. The villa became the town hall of the council of Diepenveen in 1924. By lack of space an extension took place in later years. After the border rectification of the 1th of January 1999 the city of Deventer uses the whole building as an auxiliary branche off the city hall. Currently the building is partly used by the municipal register and it still serves as a wedding location. Hint: none.
40. Oxerhof Caching only during office hours ! The estate dates from the 12th century, in 1862 the Huis Oxerhof was built including a park in English style In World War II, the estate has been used by the Germans. Just before the liberation, a number of people from the resistance were killed here. Actually, the estate is being used as a school for philosophy and spirituality. Hint: behind.
41. Bonus When having made the calculation for the bonus, you will stand in front of an object also being part of the monopoly game. Hint: underneath.
